The Grand Canyon! We finally found the beast, or at least the south rim of it. We entered the park at a point called “Desert View” and then drove 25 miles across to the “Grand Canyon Village” section of the park. Dog did not poop in the grand canyon, despite our pleas for him to do so. Instead, he decided to hold it and poop in our hotel room later that night.

We got gas at the Hopi Travel Center. We also stopped at the previous exit so I could go into the Knife City store. Ladyfriend did not join me (she is scared of knives). I bought a small kershaw lockback.

Where: +35° 4′ 37.48″, -109° 46′ 56.35″

We stopped off at Petrified Forest National Park, which also happens to include the painted desert. Took a few pictures, but didn’t stay very long.
