We made it to Arizona! Made the obligatory stop at the “welcome to arizona” rest stop.

Motel 6 number two. This one was a bit dumpier than the first. And the parking lot was pretty sketchy. But it was cheaper, and you can’t beat under $40 for a clean, dog-friendly room. Or at least it was clean before we got there. Dog decided he wanted to “mark” the bedspread, which we were none too pleased with. Luckily we had our pet urine cleaner with us, and after a good dousing and dabbing, and letting it dry, you won’t be able to tell (or so we hope).

Just past Albequerque we stopped to top off the tank, let the dog out and pick up a few sodas. Lisa talked to her mom on the phone and learned that I was using “Oregon Trail” to describe my blog of this journey, something she had apparently claimed first for her blog. I think she might have threatened to sue at that point, so if she does hire counsel I’ll switch to my backup name: Americana: The Motel 6 Tour.

Also, ABQ apparently has a baseball team called the Isotopes.
