We stopped at a store called the “Flying C Ranch”. Not much that we really wanted to buy, but the clerk was originally from Oregon and he spoke highly of our destination.

BONUS POST:
When: 15 minutes after the last place
Where: 15-20 miles down the highway from Flying C

The car beeped and we realized that we were getting low on gas, so we pulled into “Clines Corners” for a fillup. With tax we paid about $3.80, which in retrospect seems really high.

After lunch in Amarillo, we headed over to Cadillac Ranch – a piece of “public art” located outside of town. Lisa defaced it with a sharpie and then we headed out again. Pictures can be found here.

We had lunch at Sonic in Amarillo, TX. We chose the drive up because it was too hot to go inside anywhere else (and leave dog in the car/sauna).
